What is YTAA

Young people aged 15–24 build career readiness through meaningful experience, reflection and contact with the world of work. These opportunities support informed education choices, early career decisions and a sense of direction.

Family income, location, school resources and professional networks can shape access to these opportunities. YTAA brings together educators, universities, employers and funders to expand access to practical experiences, trusted connections and next steps.

Young people take part in a meaningful challenge, reflect with a facilitator and identify a practical next step for education, work or further exploration.

  1. Explore

Identify interests, previous experience and questions worth exploring.

A starting point for the journey.

  2. Experience

Take part in a meaningful challenge, simulation, project or professional encounter.

Experience that can be reflected on.

  3. Reflect

Discuss actions, decisions and feedback with peers and facilitators.

Language for what happened and why it matters.

  4. Connect

Link emerging capabilities with education routes, professional fields and people who work in them.

Contexts and contacts that widen options.

  5. Build your portfolio

Collect reflections, feedback, application materials and examples of capability in a Career Readiness encounter.

A participant-owned record that grows over time.

  6. Take the next step

Choose a practical education, work or exploration action and return to it within 30–90 days.

A next step shaped by the participant.

Four connected parts of the YTAA Way

  • Understand your starting point

Structured competency exploration helps participants identify interests, skills, previous experience and directions worth exploring.

  • Keep the journey in one place

ConsultBuro Space stores tasks, reflections, skill evidence, cases, feedback and next actions in a personal career-readiness space.

  • Try it in action

Offline business games gives participants a facilitated simulation where they collaborate, negotiate, make choices and experience consequences together.

  • Move forward with guidance

Facilitators and curators help participants reflect, complete the pathway and return to it whenever a new opportunity or question arises.
